Behavior
A Red Sea endemic tilefish, less commonly seen than the Bluehead or Chameleon Tilefish. Like all Hoplolatilus tilefish, it burrowers in sand and forms close pair bonds. Active swimmer that hovers at the burrow entrance during daylight hours.
Diet & Feeding
Carnivore. Zooplankton feeder. Offer frozen mysis, baby brine shrimp, and small carnivore pellets. Feed 2–3 times daily to meet nutritional needs.
Cautions
Deep sand bed required. Extreme jumper — absolutely must have a tight lid. Pairs are more stable than singles.
