Behavior
One of the most sought-after tilefish in the hobby due to its dramatic and rapid color changes. Peaceful and active. Pairs bond closely and are healthiest when kept together. Like all Hoplolatilus tilefish, requires a sand bed for burrowing and a very secure lid to prevent jumping.
Diet & Feeding
Carnivore. Zooplankton feeder. Offer frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and small carnivore pellets. Feed 2–3 times daily.
Cautions
Expert-level jumper — arguably the strongest jumping tendency of any tilefish. Sand bed and tight lid are non-negotiable. Pairs strongly recommended over singles.
