| Reef Compatibility | It may nip at large-polyped stony corals, zoanthids, and tridacnid clam mantles, and may also eat some soft coral polyps. Because of these possible traits, characteristic of most Angelfishes, it is a fish that may not be completely trusted in a reef system. |
Behavior
The Flame Angel can be very territorial and aggressive towards fishes of the same genus (kind), as well as other Angelfish species. They can also display aggression towards other fishes that may be of similar shape or behavior, if they are introduced after the Flame has established its self in the aquarium. They are best kept singly or in pairs, and because of their territorial nature they should be kept in larger aquariums with ample room and lots of hiding places.
Diet & Feeding
Their diet should be varied with feedings of Spirulina and marine algaes, as well as mysid shrimp and other high-quality meaty fare. Offering some foods that are vitamin supplemented are good for them as well
Cautions
Will usually fight with other dwarf angels.
