Behavior
Active scavenger and algae grazer. Effective clean-up crew member. Slightly more aggressive than Blue Leg Hermits when competing for shells. Hardy and long-lived.
Diet & Feeding
Omnivore. Grazes on algae, cyanobacteria, hair algae, and detritus. Also scavenges meaty food remnants from the substrate.
Cautions
Will attack and kill snails to steal their shells — provide extra empty shells. May be consumed by larger predatory fish.
