Behavior
A larger rabbitfish that is peaceful and an excellent algae grazer. Hardy and adaptable. Often pairs in the wild and may pair in the aquarium. Provides effective biological control of hair algae and filamentous algae in large reef systems.
Diet & Feeding
Herbivore. Provide nori, dried seaweed, spirulina, and algae-based pellets as the dietary base. Supplement with frozen mysis. A large fish with a substantial appetite — feed generously.
Cautions
Venomous dorsal spines — use caution when netting or handling. Grows larger than many hobbyists expect.
