Behavior
A hardy, peaceful schooling fish that looks best in a group, drifting over the reef by day and feeding at dusk. Named for the grunting sound it makes with its pharyngeal teeth. Provide open space and caves.
Diet & Feeding
Meaty foods — mysis, enriched brine, chopped shrimp, clam and prepared frozen foods.
Cautions
Grows sizeable and does best in a school; may eat very small crustaceans.
