Behavior
A somewhat secretive tang that appreciates cover in the form of large rocky overhangs. Generally peaceful but can be assertive with other surgeonfishes. Not commonly available; when obtained, acclimate carefully and avoid overcrowded conditions during the quarantine period. Like all tangs, vulnerable to ich when stressed.
Diet & Feeding
Herbivore; provide nori seaweed clips, spirulina pellets, and algae wafers as the staple diet. Will accept frozen mysis or enriched brine shrimp as supplemental protein. A varied diet with vitamin supplements supports long-term health.
