Cryptic Sixline Wrasse

Identification A small, slender wrasse with a pinkish-white body and thin reddish-orange horizontal lines. Similar to the Six Line Wrasse but smaller and more cryptic.

Origin Indo-Pacific — Red Sea to Polynesia
Minimum Tank Size 30 gallons
Reef Compatibility Yes — may eat very small flatworms and pyramid snails; generally reef safe

Behavior

Secretive and shy, preferring to dart between rockwork. Less bold than the Six Line Wrasse. Useful as a natural predator of small flatworms and nuisance snails.

Diet & Feeding

Carnivore. Feeds on small invertebrates and zooplankton. Offer mysis shrimp and finely chopped meaty foods.
