Behavior

Hamlets are small sea basses endemic to the Caribbean. The Butter Hamlet is one of the plainest color morphs but equally charming. All hamlets are simultaneous hermaphrodites that pair-spawn nightly on reefs. Hardy and peaceful in the aquarium.

Diet & Feeding

Carnivore. Feeds on small fish and crustaceans. Offer frozen mysis, brine shrimp, small silversides, and meaty preparations. Generally a good feeder.

Cautions

May eat very small fish or ornamental shrimp. Best with fish of similar or larger size.
