|---|---|
| Maximum Length | 11.8″ |
| Origin | Western Pacific |
| Minimum Tank Size | 125 Gallon |
| Reef Compatibility | Reef safe with caution. Mainly herbivorous and generally reef safe, though it may occasionally nip large-polyp corals; an excellent algae grazer. |
Behavior
A hardy, peaceful, active grazer that helps control filamentous and problem algae. Provide open swimming room and plenty of rock for grazing. Best kept singly or as a bonded pair.
Diet & Feeding
Marine algae and dried seaweed (nori) daily, plus mysis, enriched brine and prepared herbivore foods.
Cautions
Venomous dorsal, anal and pelvic spines deliver a painful sting — handle with care. May nip some corals.
