| Coloration | Green, cream, pink daisy polyps |
Overview
Alveopora is a flowerpot-type LPS with long, daisy-like polyps that sway in the current — very similar in look to Goniopora. The easy way to tell them apart: Alveopora polyps have 12 tentacles, Goniopora have 24. Alveopora is generally considered a bit hardier than Goniopora.
Care & Placement
Give low-to-moderate light and low-to-moderate flow. Place low on rock or sand. Like Goniopora it prefers a stable, mature tank; aquacultured specimens do best.
Feeding
Photosynthetic and benefits from feeding — target-feed fine foods (coral foods, phytoplankton, baby brine, aminos) a couple of times a week to support the long polyps.
Propagation
Frag by dividing the encrusting base/skeleton — best done by experienced keepers.

Cautions
Prefers stable, mature water; avoid parameter swings. Do not confuse with Goniopora (24 tentacles vs Alveopora’s 12). Extends mild sweepers — give a little space.
