Maximum Length Up to 5.5 inches (14 cm)
Origin Indian Ocean — Maldives, Sri Lanka, East Africa
Minimum Tank Size 70 gallons
Reef Compatible Yes — excellent

Behavior

A peaceful, active grazer that works tirelessly to clean film algae and detritus from rockwork and substrate. Hardy and adaptable. One of the better options for smaller reef systems that need algae control.

Diet & Feeding

Herbivore and detritivore. Supplement with nori on a clip, spirulina, and marine-algae-based pellets. A healthy, varied diet helps maintain the vivid eye coloration.

Cautions

Avoid keeping multiple Ctenochaetus species together in smaller tanks.
