Behavior

Highly active day and night. Excellent for cleaning substrate, glass, and rockwork. Will burrow into the top layer of sand to consume detritus. Among the hardiest snails in the hobby. May lay small spiral egg masses on glass — this is harmless.

Diet & Feeding

Herbivore / Detritivore. Grazes on film algae, cyanobacteria, diatoms, and organic detritus in the substrate.

Cautions

Sensitive to copper-based medications. Egg masses on glass are harmless and can be removed manually if desired.
