Eibli Angel

Centropyge eibli

Eibli Angel

Identification Generally, the Eibl’s Angelfish is tannish white with yellow stripes running vertically throughout the body area with a yellow under belly and orange ring around the eye and with a black tail. Sometimes, presumably because of the cross breeding with the Half Black Angelfish, the black that normally encompasses just the tail, will move up forward in the body region.
Maximum Length Attains a length of approximately 5-6 inches.
Origin Indo West Pacific
Minimum Tank Size 30 Gallon
Reef Compatibility The Eibl’s Angelfish is not an ideal marine reef aquarium fish, as it is a potential threat to certain corals and the mantles of clams. However, this fish has been kept in marine reef aquariums without this problem, but the aquarist would be taking a risk.

Behavior

This angelfish adapts well to the aquarium environment, but should be provided with a number of hiding spaces as it is a shy species. Because of its shy nature, it should be kept with other non-aggressive tank mates.

Diet & Feeding

Varied Diet containing Spirulina and marine algae as well as mysis shrimp and vitamin enriched foods

Cautions

May fight with other dwarf angelfish.
