One of the most popular herbivorous snails in the hobby. Very effective at grazing hair algae and microalgae from rocks and glass. Mostly nocturnal, most active after lights out. May be knocked over by powerheads — ensure they can right themselves or they will starve.
Diet & Feeding
Herbivore. Grazes on hair algae, film algae, and diatoms. Does not require supplemental feeding in a well-established aquarium with sufficient algae growth.
Cautions
Will starve in a tank with insufficient algae growth. Prone to falling off rocks; ensure there are no deep drops where they cannot right themselves. Sensitive to copper-based medications.
