| Maximum Length | 2 inches |
| Origin | Caribbean |
| Minimum Tank Size | 10 gallons |
| Reef Compatibility | Excellent |
Behavior
Unlike the solitary Giant Feather Duster, Social Feather Dusters naturally form colonies of many individuals living together in a single rock. Can reproduce and establish new colonies in a mature reef tank. Hardy and long-lived compared to larger feather duster species.
Diet & Feeding
Filter feeder. Feeds on phytoplankton and fine particulate organic matter suspended in the water. Benefit from occasional additions of liquid phytoplankton.
Cautions
Provide moderate, consistent flow to allow feeding. Aggressive fish may nip at crowns. Will retract into rock when disturbed — this is normal. Do not scrub rocks containing colonies.
