Behavior
Primarily nocturnal and very reclusive during daylight hours. Fascinating color-shift behavior between day (green/brown camouflage) and night (reddish). Ample rockwork for hiding is essential.
Diet & Feeding
Omnivore. Grazes on algae and scavenges for meaty foods. Will accept most prepared marine foods offered at night.
Cautions
Rarely seen during the day, so many keepers think it has died — check after lights out. May nip at small ornamental shrimp.
