Behavior
An active, hardy scavenger that roams the rock and sand eating algae, detritus and leftover food. More peaceful than many hermits, but like all hermits it will occasionally covet a snail’s shell — provide plenty of empty shells in various sizes.
Diet & Feeding
Algae (including hair and nuisance algae), detritus, cyanobacteria and leftover meaty foods; a good algae grazer.
Cautions
May kill snails for their shells if empties are scarce — keep spare shells available.
