Behavior
Buries in sand substrate and emerges rapidly when meaty food is detected. One of the best sandbed-stirring snails available, preventing dead spots and hydrogen sulfide buildup. Very fast and active when food is present.
Diet & Feeding
Scavenger. Feeds on detritus, uneaten fish food, and decaying organic matter. A critical member of any sandbed cleanup crew.
Cautions
Requires a sand substrate of at least 1 inch depth. Will not thrive on bare bottom. Benefits from regular target feeding (silversides, meaty foods) in tanks with few fish.
