Kuekenthal’s Cleaner Shrimp

Identification A slender, mostly transparent cleaner shrimp with red-and-white banding on the legs and antennae and small white spots on the body. It constantly “dances” to advertise its cleaning services.
Maximum Length 1.5″
Origin Indo-Pacific
Minimum Tank Size 10 Gallon
Reef Compatibility Reef safe. A peaceful, beneficial cleaner.

Behavior

A hardy, peaceful cleaner shrimp that sets up cleaning stations and rocks its body to attract fish, then picks parasites and dead tissue from them. Often kept in small groups, where the dancing display is especially active. Somewhat shy; appreciates overhangs.

Diet & Feeding

Omnivore — parasites and dead tissue from fish, detritus, plus most meaty prepared and frozen foods.

Cautions

Sensitive to copper and rapid salinity swings; requires iodine for proper molting. Acclimate slowly.
