Behavior
Lives commensally with host anemones (bubble tip, carpet, and other large anemones). Very peaceful toward fish and corals. Uses fan-like maxillipeds to filter plankton from the water column. One of the most reef-safe crabs available.
Diet & Feeding
Filter feeder. Captures plankton and suspended organic particles using feathery appendages. Supplement with liquid phytoplankton or zooplankton added to the water column.
Cautions
Must be provided with a host anemone or it will not thrive. May be bullied by larger, more aggressive fish. Peaceful toward all corals, shrimp, and other invertebrates.
