Behavior

Also called the Brown Butterflyfish. A distinctive Indian Ocean species with its unique half-and-half body pattern. Hardy and adaptable compared to some butterflies. Generally peaceful and works well in community FOWLR systems with appropriate tank mates.

Diet & Feeding

Carnivore. Feeds on small invertebrates, worms, and some coral polyps. Offer frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and meaty preparations. Usually a good feeder once settled.

Cautions

Not reef safe. Keep water quality high — butterflies are sensitive to declining water conditions.
