Yellow Pseudochromis

Pseudochromis aureus

Identification Vivid, uniform golden-yellow body with a subtle blue sheen at certain angles. Bright, jewel-like coloration stands out in any reef tank.
Maximum Length Up to 3 inches (8 cm)
Origin Western Pacific — Indonesia, Philippines
Minimum Tank Size 30 gallons
Reef Compatible Yes

Behavior

One of the most strikingly colored dottybacks. Hardy and bold, it holds its own with larger fish despite its small size. Active and visible — not a hider like some pseudochromis species. A great choice for adding a pop of yellow to a reef.

Diet & Feeding

Carnivore. Offer frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and quality small pellets. A good eater that rarely refuses food.

Cautions

Aggressive toward other dottybacks and similar-sized shy fish. Keep only one per tank.
