Identification Dark brown to black body covered in fine orange-blue horizontal lines. The caudal fin is distinctively white, contrasting sharply with the dark body. The eye has a yellow-orange ring.

Behavior

A standout in the Ctenochaetus genus for its white tail, making it easily identifiable in a mixed tang system. Peaceful, hardy, and an excellent algae grazer. Well suited to reef aquariums of moderate size.

Diet & Feeding

Herbivore and detritivore. Grazes on film algae, detritus, and organic matter from rock surfaces. Supplement with dried seaweed and algae-based prepared foods.
