Identification Dark brown body with a distinctive electric-blue horizontal stripe near the base of the tail. An orange-red mark highlights the area around the caudal spine. The body pattern is subdued but elegant.

Behavior

A peaceful and hardy Indian Ocean tang that is less commonly kept than its Pacific relatives. Adapts well to aquarium life and is an effective grazer. Works well in large reef systems alongside other peacefully tempered tangs.

Diet & Feeding

Herbivore. Provide nori on a clip daily, spirulina-based foods, and herbivore pellets. Supplement with frozen algae preparations.
