Behavior
The Peppermint (Masudai) Hogfish is a beautiful, smaller deepwater hogfish prized for its candy-striped coloration. It is an active, hardy wrasse that prefers subdued lighting and plenty of rockwork; more manageable in size than most hogfish.
Diet & Feeding
Carnivore. Offer mysis, chopped seafood, and small meaty foods; feed one to two times daily.
Cautions
May eat small ornamental shrimp and tiny invertebrates. An active swimmer — provide open space, rockwork, and a secure lid. Prefers dimmer light; acclimate gradually. Otherwise hardy.
