Reef Compatibility The Neon Goby is an excellent marine reef aquarium species because it will not bother any invertebrates and can acts a cleaner fish when treating for parasites is difficult.

Behavior

In the wild this species acts as a cleaner and will do so as well in the aquarium environment. As a result, its diet consists of parasites, but it will also eat certain prepared foods such as brine shrimp and types of plankton. In the wild it tends to be found in groups around large coral heads and thus given some space will do well in groups in the aquarium environment as well.

Diet & Feeding

Parasites, small crustaceans and plankton. Bold nibbler; bottom feeder. Meaty foods including vitamin enriched live and frozen brine shrimp, frozen mysis shrimp, and frozen food for carnivores.

Cautions

Unfortunately, these eminently suitable aquarium subjects are short-lived – Perhaps only a year or two but will readily spawn in the aquarium if conditions are right.
