Multicolor Angelfish

Centropyge multicolor

Identification A beautiful dwarf angel in cream and gold dusted with dark speckling, with a bright yellow-orange head and blue-edged fins. A deeper-water species.
Maximum Length about 4″
Origin Central Pacific — Hawaii, Marshall Islands, Palau
Minimum Tank Size 55 Gal.
Reef Compatibility Reef safe with caution

Behavior

A hardy but initially shy deepwater dwarf angel that grazes the rockwork. Give it caves and shaded areas and it settles well. Semi-aggressive toward other Centropyge.

Diet & Feeding

Omnivore and grazer. Offer dried algae/nori, angelfish preparations, mysis and pellets.

Cautions

May nip corals and clam mantles. From deeper water — acclimate it to strong reef lighting slowly. Shy at first, so house it with peaceful fish.
