| Maximum Length | 29″ |
| Origin | Indo-Pacific |
| Minimum Tank Size | 300 Gallon |
| Reef Compatibility | Not reef safe. A large predator that eats fish and crustaceans. |
Behavior
A hardy, fast-growing schooling snapper. The striking black-and-white juvenile is what draws hobbyists, but it grows quickly into a large, plain adult that needs a very big tank with open swimming room. Peaceful toward fish too large to eat.
Diet & Feeding
Meaty foods — silversides, shrimp, squid, krill and chunks of marine fish; feed heavily while growing.
Cautions
Grows very large and loses its juvenile pattern. Plan for adult size and provide a huge tank.
