Behavior
A prawn goby that lives in a mutualistic partnership with alpheid (pistol) shrimp in the wild. The shrimp maintains the burrow while the goby stands guard and provides early warning of predators. Will accept substitute alpheid shrimp partners in the aquarium. A fascinating behavior to observe.
Diet & Feeding
Carnivore. Feeds on zooplankton and small benthic invertebrates. Offer frozen mysis, baby brine shrimp, and copepods. Small particle size is important given its small mouth.
Cautions
Very small and easily intimidated by boisterous tank mates. Best kept with gentle, small species. Jumps easily — secure the lid.
