Evansi Anthias

Pseudanthias evansi

Identification A striking anthias, violet-magenta below with a broad lemon-yellow back and yellow tail. Also called the Yellowback Anthias.
Maximum Length about 4″
Origin Indian Ocean — Maldives, Sri Lanka, Christmas Island
Minimum Tank Size 70 Gal.
Reef Compatibility Reef safe

Behavior

A shoaling midwater planktivore that does best in a group. Peaceful and reef safe, but one of the more delicate anthias to establish — it wants pristine water, strong flow and food little and often.

Diet & Feeding

Planktivore. Offer mysis, enriched brine and cyclops in several small feedings a day.

Cautions

Delicate on import and often ships poorly — buy a settled, eating specimen. Needs a mature tank, multiple daily feedings and peaceful tankmates. A jumper.
