Blue Eye Tang

Ctenochaetus binotatus

Identification	Dark olive-brown body covered in fine horizontal orange-blue lines. The eye is ringed in vivid electric blue, giving this fish its common name. Tail has a yellow tinge.

Behavior

A peaceful, hardy tang well suited to reef aquariums. Constantly grazes over rockwork and substrate, helping control film algae and detritus. Generally tolerates other tangs of different body shapes better than it tolerates its own genus.

Diet & Feeding

Herbivore and detritivore. Naturally grazes on fine filamentous algae and organic detritus. Supplement with dried seaweed on a clip, spirulina-based foods, and quality pellets. A diverse diet keeps coloration vibrant.

Cautions

Avoid housing with other Ctenochaetus species in smaller systems. Provide plenty of live rock for grazing.
