Overview
The Duncan Coral is a hardy, fast-growing LPS with tubular polyps topped by a green center and a crown of tentacles. Unusually for an LPS it is peaceful and beginner-friendly, and it grows quickly when well fed.
Care & Placement
Give low-to-moderate light and flow. Duncans are not aggressive and can be placed near other peaceful corals. They tolerate a range of conditions, making them a great first LPS.
Feeding
A heavy feeder that responds dramatically to food — target-feed meaty foods (mysis, chopped seafood, pellets) 2-3 times a week and it will multiply new heads quickly.
Propagation
Easy to frag — Duncans grow on a branching skeleton; simply cut off a branch with a head or two and glue to a plug.
Cautions
Peaceful and non-aggressive — one of the few LPS safe near other corals. Just keep it well fed for best growth.
