| Coloration | Velvety green, purple, cream |
Overview
Psammocora (the “Cat’s Paw” or “Sandpaper” coral) has a smooth, velvety texture and encrusting-to-mounding growth. It is a hardy, undemanding SPS that tolerates a range of conditions, making it another good starter stony coral.
Care & Placement
Give low-to-moderate light and moderate flow. Place low-to-mid on rock. It is forgiving of lighting and flow variation compared to branching SPS.
Feeding
Photosynthetic; stable water and light are what it needs. Light feeding is optional.
Propagation
Easy to frag — cut a piece of the encrusting/mounding colony and glue to a plug.
Cautions
Hardy and peaceful. Keep parameters reasonably stable and provide moderate flow.
