Behavior
The Tricolor Sea Slug (also sold under the name Chromodoris bullocki) is a stunning nudibranch with a pink-to-purple body edged in white and topped with orange-tipped gills and rhinophores. Like other chromodorids it moves slowly over rockwork and displays warning coloration signaling its chemical defenses. It is completely peaceful and safe around corals, fish, and other invertebrates.
Diet & Feeding
Specialist feeder on specific sponges. This dietary specialization makes it very difficult to maintain in captivity, as the exact sponge species it requires is rarely present in sufficient quantity. No prepared food substitute is reliable. Recommended only for advanced aquarists with large, mature, sponge-rich tanks.
Cautions
Highly specialized diet makes long-term survival difficult; most specimens slowly starve. Can release toxins when stressed or dying, potentially harming tank mates. Keep away from unguarded pump intakes. Purchase only if you understand the feeding challenge.
