Behavior
One of the most commonly encountered Pacific goatfish. An energetic bottom forager that constantly stirs sand with its barbels in search of prey. Peaceful with unrelated fish but may disturb live sand beds significantly. Active and entertaining to watch.
Diet & Feeding
Carnivore. Probes substrate for worms, crustaceans, and small invertebrates. Feed frozen mysis, brine shrimp, clam, and similar meaty foods placed near the substrate.
Cautions
Will disturb sand beds and may uproot corals placed near the bottom. Not safe with ornamental shrimp.
