Centropyge heraldi
| Identification | Solid lemon-yellow body with no markings or patterns — a clean, uniform yellow that is bright and vibrant. Often confused with the Lemonpeel Angel but lacks the Lemonpeel's blue eye ring and fin highlights. |
| Maximum Length | Up to 4 inches (10 cm) |
| Origin | Pacific Ocean — Fiji, Tonga, Japan, Australia |
| Minimum Tank Size | 55 gallons |
| Reef Compatible | With caution |
Behavior
Also known as Herald’s Angelfish or the False Lemonpeel. A peaceful, hardy pygmy angel that adjusts well to aquarium life. Its clean yellow coloration makes it easy to see clearly in any tank. Keeps to itself and rarely bothers other fish.
Diet & Feeding
Omnivore. Provide spirulina, dried seaweed, marine algae, frozen mysis shrimp, and quality angel preparations. A good variety maintains the vivid yellow color.
Cautions
May nip at soft corals and polyps. Introduce to an established reef tank and monitor carefully. Less likely to nip than some Centropyge but not fully reef safe.
