Behavior
Also known as the Black Velvet Angelfish. A strikingly beautiful and uncommon aquarium fish. Generally peaceful toward non-angel species. Like all Chaetodontoplus, it needs established, stable aquarium conditions. A highlight fish for any FOWLR or carefully managed reef system.
Diet & Feeding
Omnivore. Provide sponge-based angel preparations, frozen mysis, marine algae, and spirulina. Varied diet is key to maintaining the rich black coloration.
Cautions
Can be finicky upon introduction. Provide plenty of hiding places and live rock to graze on. May nip at sessile invertebrates.
