Behavior

Docile bottom-dweller; nocturnal. Requires cool water (55–68°F). Can coexist with large fish it cannot eat.

Diet & Feeding

Carnivore. Feed shrimp, squid, hard-shelled crustaceans, and clams. Powerful jaws for crushing prey.

Cautions

Cold water species; will eat crustaceans and smaller fish. Expert care required.
