Behavior
This species makes an excellent marine aquarium species because it is both hardy and extremely colorful. In the wild, the Golden Butterfly fish is often found in pairs and, thus, can be kept in pairs in the aquarium as well. This species originates most frequently from the Red Sea and thus fetches a hefty price, however, the cost has recently decreased a great deal. A healthy specimen will feed on a variety of aquarium foods such as bloodworms, algae formulas and brine shrimp. Because of its expensive nature and at times finicky eating habits, this is not the best choice for the beginner aquarist.
Diet & Feeding
Individuals vary in their willingness to feed. Offer clams, krill, shrimp, mysis and vitamin-enriched brine.
