Precision Marine Kalkreactor KR620

At Precision Marine there are two ways Calcium can be added to your reef tank, the Calcium Reactor or the Kalkreactor pictured here. You can either gravity feed through the Kalkreactor from a freshwater top-off system to your reservoir, or use a dosing pump.

A reliable water pump is used in lieu of the magnetic stir bar, which tends to jam, bind and wear the acrylic.

Deltec KM500 Kalkwasser Stirrer holds 500g Calcium Hydroxide

Kalkwasser - Translates from the German for limewater and is a solution made by dissolving Calcium Hydroxide in water. The resultant fresh solution is alkaline with a pH of 12.4 and contains a ready supply of both Calcium ions and Carbonate ions.
The solution reacts readily with CO2 in the atmosphere to form calcium carbonate and so it must be made in a relatively air tight environment which is where the kalkwasser stirrer comes in to play.

The KM500T is the standard stirrer suitable for tanks up to 1500 lts (350 UK gallons) and will produce up to 5lt of kalkwasser per hour.

Deltec FR1016 Fluidized Reactor

The FR1016 is better known as a Rowaphos reactor for its common use for fluidising Rowaphos however this quality reactor can be used for carbon or fluidising sand as a biological media.

Description:

The FR1016 is a substantial fluidized reactor with a twist off bayonet lid to allow easy access for replacement of the media. It is the taller version of the FR616. The water is forced down a central tube and is returned back up through a diffuser plate. Sponges are fitted either side of the media section to retain the finer particles.

The lid is fitted with a tap to adjust the flow and two hosetails connected to unions for simple removal or to allow hard piping to be used.
